Matagorda County Drainage District No.1 was established in 1907. We maintain and construct drainage ways in the district. We provide our services from the east side of the Colorado river within Matagorda County. We use the latest technology and equipment for the construction and maintenance of bridges and creeks.
Flood Prone Area
Matagorda County is in the Coastal Prairie region of Texas, crossed by the once highly flood-prone Colorado River, which bisects it from north to south. All our designs drain water in a timely fashion and assist in the prevention of flooding.
Servicing the Tax Payer
We construct bridges, culvert crossings and low water crossings in accordance with the Drainage District Rules and Regulations.
