Rules & Regulations

An M.C.D.D. #1 permit is required when:

  1. The proposed development is located within M.C.D.D. #1 boundaries.
  2. Any of the proposed development outfalls to an M.C.D.D. #1 easement.
  3. The proposed improvement takes place on a tract of land GREATER than ONE acre.
  4. The proposed improvement (fill/excavation) will modify the natural or existing flow of water.
  5. The proposed fill material will be placed within less than ten (10) feet of the property lines.

Permit Application submittal steps:

  1. Submit the Permit Application and supporting documents in PDF format to [email protected]
  2. Submit a check payable to “Matagorda County Drainage District #1” for the respective fee(s) and a hard copy of the application and supporting documents to the M.C.D.D. #1 office located at 2604 Nichols Ave., Bay City, TX  77414.

Please note that the District will NOT start the formal review of the application until a hard copy of the permit application package and all required fees are delivered to the DISTRICT and paid in full.
